Mindful design integrated with nature
Rhino Sands Safari Camp was designed and built with minimal disruption to the ecosystem to complement rather than dominate the environment. The camp is made entirely of canvas tents set upon wooden decks and decorated in a classical safari style. It is a space where the indoors and outdoors merge seamlessly, creating a camp where guests are invited to immerse themselves entirely in the experience of safari.
The main camp features a reception, lounge, bar, and multiple dining areas, including our traditional boma, and the main camp is connected to the safari tents via a raised wooden walkway that weaves through the riverine forest.
Your forest sanctuary
Each of Rhino Sands’ five luxury tented suites are tucked away in the riverine forest, located along the edge of a peninsula allowing spectacular views of the Msunduze riverbed. Each suite cocoons guests in privacy and peace, providing a sanctuary for guests to relax and absorb the environment around them. Guests fall asleep to the sounds of the wild lions roaring, hyaenas calling, bushbabies crying and wake to a glorious forest symphony of birds as the sun begins to rise.
Each tent features a lounge, bathroom with bathtub and shower, private deck with plunge pool, outdoor shower, and bedroom that can be configured as a king or two singles.
